CAEL and WICHE are seeking institutional nominations for the inaugural Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Equity Awards. The awards will recognize institutions effectively using CPL to improve outcomes for underrepresented student populations in postsecondary education.
Our organizations’ 2020 PLA Boost research highlighted CPL as a powerful tool for postsecondary engagement and completion, but follow-up research presented in the Equity Paradox report found that many of the populations that could most benefit from CPL are those least likely to have earned CPL credit.
CAEL and WICHE will recognize institutions closing gaps in access to high quality CPL opportunities and work together with awardees to share their effective strategies with the broader field.
The deadline for nominations is December 15, with winners to be announced in March/April 2024.
