WICHE is closely monitoring the outbreak of “SARS-CoV-2,” and the disease it causes, which has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”). To inform and facilitate your response to a rapidly changing situation, WICHE has compiled the following set of resources, which will be updated as new information becomes available.

Boulder, Colorado — The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) has been awarded a $412,000 supplemental grant by Lumina Foundation for Education to expand its project Non-traditional No More: Policy Solutions for Adult Learners. The goal of Non-traditional No More – originally funded by Lumina at $755,100 – is to increase adult learners’ access to and success in postsecondary education.

Boulder, Colorado — The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) has chosen two new states to participate in its project Non-traditional No More: Policy Solutions for Adult Learners. WICHE will work with New Jersey and South Dakota over the next two years to stimulate and guide policy and practice changes that will make it easier for “ready adults” – those who are just shy of having enough credits to obtain a degree but haven’t yet returned to college – to earn their diplomas.

Boulder, Colorado — The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) has been awarded a grant by Lumina Foundation for Education to work with education research firm Hezel Associates on a project focused on articulation and transfer. WICHE and Hezel Associates will examine how state colleges and universities coordinate their programs and services to support students who move from two-year to four-year institutions.
