Statement from WICHE President Demarée Michelau:
I am writing to share the sad news about the recent passing of Catherine Frances “Cathy” Dinauer, Executive Director of the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
During her service as a WICHE Commissioner from January 2021 to July 2026, Cathy served on WICHE’s Programs and Services Committee and participated in WICHE’s quarterly discussions on healthcare workforce development in the West. She generously shared her expertise in nursing policy and served as an important connector between WICHE staff and healthcare leaders in Nevada.
On behalf of WICHE, we extend our condolences to Cathy’s family, friends, and colleagues. In accordance with her family’s wishes, WICHE will contribute to the scholarship fund established in her memory.
