Airport Information

WICHE staff recommends that guests either fly into Denver International Airport (DIA) and use Groome Transportation shuttle (see information below) to the hotel or fly from DIA to Cheyenne Regional Airport and take a ride share to the hotel.

Denver International Airport (DIA) is served by most major airlines. Groome Transportation provides shuttle services from DIA to the Little America Hotel in Cheyenne, Wyoming, for $59. Click the link HERE to reserve a shuttle.

United Airlines provides daily flights from DIA to Cheyenne Regional Airport. Cheyenne Regional Airport is located approximately 4.5 miles from the Little America Hotel & Resort in Cheyenne.

Transportation

Groome Transportation – Fare is approximately $59.00 USD from DIA to the Little America Hotel & Resort. Click the link HERE to reserve a shuttle.

Rideshare-based apps like Uber and Lyft can pick up at the Cheyenne Regional Airport.

Due to the meeting taking place on the Laramie County Community College campus, shuttles will be provided at the beginning and end of each meeting day. The shuttle schedule will be provided to all attendees closer to the meeting date. If you need transportation outside of these shuttles, WICHE staff would suggest Uber or Lyft.

Dress

Dress for the meeting is business casual. The average temperature in the Cheyenne area in April is fairly cool with the possibility of snow. Average temperature is between 45°F to 60°F during the day, with temperatures dropping in the evening.

Local Attractions

Around the world, the very name Cheyenne conjures up images of cowboys, trains, and the great outdoors. Today’s Cheyenne is all of that and more!

There are plenty of historical attractions in Cheyenne. Highlights include:

  • The Historic Atlas Theatre – The Historic Atlast Theatre is owned and operated by Cheyenne Little Theatre. Home to the annual Old Fashioned Melodrama every summer, the building is also used for touring acts, private events, and other theatrical productions throughout the year.
  • Eight-Foot-Tall Cowboy Boots – There have been multiple eight-foot-tall cowboy boots that have been carefully painted by local artists to show the history of Cheyenne and Wyoming. Go on a scavenger hunt and find them all!

There are places to go for fun activities for the whole family. Highlights include:

  • Board & Brush Creative Studio – The goal at this wonderful studio is to turn you into a “DIY master” by educating guests to understand and appreciate the beauty of raw materials—the wood, the knots, the color variations and the simple imperfections that will make everyone’s project unique.

There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy whether during the day or later in the evening. Highlights include:

  • Blue Raven Brewery – In downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming in the Corson House historical home. Stop by and enjoy a pint of craft beer on their patio or inside their historic tasting room.
  • The Metropolitan Downtown – A classic menu with elevated service and polished casual atmosphere, the Metropolitan Denver invites you to enjoy innovative twists on comfortable classics, exceptional wines, and creative cocktails.
