In a clinical psychology doctoral program, finding a "good fit" to foster your career aspirations is especially important. WRGP allowed me the ability to gain acceptance into a program specializing in Clinical Health Psychology with faculty conducting research that closely aligns with my focused area of interest. I look forward to the relevant research I'll be apart of and the amazing education I'll receive at the University Colorado Denver as part of my training to become a clinical psychologist. Thank you WRGP, for affording me this opportunity.

Without the WUE, it would have cost over 8,000 dollars every quarter to attend CWU, culminating in roughly 25,000 each year or over one million dollars to graduate in four. College was the only option for me. High school failed to quench my thirst for knowledge; and while I may now be restricted to one field of study, I still have learned more in the first fall then I had in the last seven years of public education. WUE has cut the cost of my dreams, and given me the opportunity to be the first member of my family to receive a college degree. People have told me that you take what you are given and make the most of it, but I feel as if the WUE is less of a handout, and more of a philanthropic investment. My life improved when WUE gave me their waiver, and now I feel obligated to uphold that tradition of bettering lives. Everything I learn here belongs in part to the spirit of the program, and those skills and lessons must be utilized in the same manner. No matter how my career develops, or my life goes, I can always give back to the community in honor of the assistance extended to me. It isn't fair that someone should pay more for the same education as someone else based on where they live, but the world changes slowly, and until the process is done, those who try to go far can at least turn to WUE to help them go a little further.
With deepest gratitude,
- Kelsey Sheppard

I’ll be the first member of my family to receive a college degree. Without the reduced tuition available through WUE, it would have cost over $100K to attend college. I have learned so much in my first semester at Central Washington University. I hold tremendous gratitude for the WUE program. WUE is a worthy investment; it's allowed me to improve my life, and I feel called to give back to the community in honor of the assistance extended to me. Thank you!

As a student from one of the millions of families that make too much money for financial aid but struggles to gather the money to send me to college,,WUE meant that I could study in the state that I had always hoped for and at college with a good business program, all with minimal loans. I can't even begin to truly describe how much it has helped my family and I. All I can say is that I'm indebted to the WUE program.

As an Oregon resident from one of the many families that make too much money to qualify for financial aid but still struggle to pay for college, WUE meant that I could study in California as I had dreamed of, enroll at a college with a good business program, and take out minimal student loans. I can't even begin to describe how much the reduced tuition through WUE has meant for my family and me. I'll be forever indebted to the WUE program.

I have always wanted to go to a university out of state. Because of WUE I was able to make my dreams come true. I am planning to finish my undergraduate degree at NAU and then go onto med school. Without WUE I would not have been able to go to school out of state. I love this school and I am so grateful that I was able to come pursue my education here.

I currently teach at OHSU School of Nursing and have my Master's degree in Nursing. When I set my goal to obtain my PhD, I came to find that OHSU has policy for employees to obtain their degrees outside of our institution to avoid conflicts of interest and to encourage a broad background of research and talent. ASU's program fit my goal; however, out-of-state tuition created a barrier for my attendance. The WICHE funds made obtaining my PhD at ASU an option I could afford.
