Leaders Facing Change:
Asking the Right Questions

April 8-10, 2015
Rapid City, SD

Dear Colleagues,

I look forward to welcoming you to the Great State of South Dakota where you can enjoy the beauty of the Black Hills, and explore such sites as Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Sanford Underground Laboratories and the friendly downtown of your host, Rapid City! But even more, I look forward to discussing with you today’s important questions concerning what matters most to us as academic leaders: our students, their aspirations, and their success. With the nation’s higher education terrain shifting at every corner, it is often difficult to know what questions to ask, much less how to answer them. But, together, we will do just that. We’ll hear from speakers who will challenge our thinking and push us in new directions. Others will inspire us to ask new questions and to use our collective energy, innovative thinking, and enthusiasm to collaborate on fresh and creative ways to produce a better educated and skilled workforce. And building on our own vast and varied experiences, we’ll boldly face the most elusive of these questions collectively to create a stronger future for higher education in the West.
