The West’s demographics, along with its geography and population distribution, present unique challenges to preparing our students to participate in the economy and also to meeting workforce needs, especially in areas like healthcare.

  • Behavioral Health Workforce Development

    Provides analyses of mental health workforce supply and preparedness, with a special focus on rural issues and cultural competence in the workforce. ► Technical Assistance ► Annapolis Coalition ► Workforce Briefs

  • Fostering Collaborative State-Level Education and Workforce Database Development

    Helps states expand analytical capacity for improved policy and practice through longitudinal data systems development.

  • Knocking At The College Door

    Provides projections of high school graduates, including data on enrollments and graduates by state and for major racial/ethnic groups covering the period from 1991-92 through 2021-22.

  • Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP)

    Helps students who want to earn a professional degree in the health professions pay reduced tuition at participating programs in the West.

  • Rocky Mountain Collaborative to Transform the Health Professions Workforce

    Works to expand the pipeline of underrepresented populations through all sectors of postsecondary education and ultimately into the health professions.

  • Rural Behavioral Health

    Promotes behavioral health care for individuals living in rural America. ► Frontier Mental Health Services Resource Network ►  President's New Freedom Commission ► Promising Practices

  • State-specific Behavioral Health Support

    Assists states in evaluating and improving their behavioral health systems. ► Projects

  • Western Academic Leadership Forum

    Provides the West’s top academic leadership with a forum for sharing information and expertise and collaborating on regional initiatives.

  • Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP)

    Assists students who want to earn a master’s or doctorate to save money at participating institutions across the West by paying resident tuition.
