While the MERLOT Website (www.merlot.org) is open to any individual user, MERLOT has invited institutions and systems of higher education to help support the peer review process and expand the collection of learning materials. Twenty-three organizations are formally participating in MERLOT activities during 2001-2002 academic year. Faculty from these institutions serve on a discipline team and are responsible for providing leadership and peer-reviews to the broader academic community.

At the urging of our members, WCET organized a member consortium to participate in MERLOT activities. Six organizations have joined the WCET-MERLOT Consortium: University of Nevada-Las Vegas, University of Utah, University of Wyoming, University of Northern Colorado, University of Hawaii System, and the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium.
