  • Student meets pre-requisites concerning number of college credit hours achieved, overall GPA, major field GPA, etc.
  • Student has reviewed requirements for completion of intended major
  • Student has requested and been scheduled for an advising session
  • Advisor is aware of student intentions, and has reviewed student records

 Scenario 15: Student requests pre-enrollment appointment for advising for the next semester

 Goal

  •  Create course schedule with advisor for upcoming semester

Pre-Conditions

  • Advisor has notified student of pre-enrollment window for following semester
  • Student has reviewed courses still needed, checked pre-requisites in advance, and looked at course schedule
  • Student & advisor have verified appropriateness of degree plan and progress
  • Advisor has reviewed student’s record to determine what courses are still needed
  • Advisor has checked student’s academic progress to determine his/her status.
  • Advisor has verified satisfactory progress with the student in his/her current semester

Student calls or e-mails advisor, requests list of available advising slots

System provides schedule availabilities

Student selects an available slot

System accepts input, updates files, sends notice of scheduled advising session to advisor
