Cooperative Education/Internship Program

An Opportunity For Growth!

The mission of the Cooperative Education Program is to assist students with the
transition from school to work.

UAA's Cooperative Education Program is self-support and services a large
metropolitan community and campus with full- and part-time students.

Placement and participation are determined by the academic major with the consent of the faculty advisor. All placements are for academic credit and the student earns a salary. Many positions transition into continued employment after the placement or offered full-time employment after graduation.

Cooperative Education placements allow the student to test classroom
learning in real work situations and work on meaningful projects while getting paid at the same time.

Employers benefit from the program too by pre-screening potential long-term
employees, and having a cost-effective means of recruitment. Students
working in the community helps to foster goodwill for the company and the University. Employers provide valuable feedback to the University to keep curricula up-to-date.
