This electronic application allows you to save your application data, retrieve the information, then complete and submit your application at your convenience. To protect your privacy, all electronic applications go through our secure web server using strong encryption to and from the server. This enhanced security also enables you to pay the admission fee online with a major credit card.

Choosing a Name:   Top Arrow
To complete this form, you will be required to choose a login name and password. Please be sure to make note of both because you will need the information to retrieve your application data.

How to Submit:  Top Arrow
To submit your application, click on the SUBMIT button at the end of the application.

Applicant ID Number:  Top Arrow
Upon clicking on the SUBMIT button, you will be assigned an applicant identification number which will print out on an application fee form.  The identification number will be used to assure that your application fee payment is properly credited if you are paying the application fee by check or money order.  The application fee form must be submitted along with your check or money order.  
Note: Your application will not be processed until the application fee has been received.

  • Application Information:  Top Arrow
    The following categories of information are required on the application. Please make note of the information before going into the electronic form.
  • Supporting Documents:   Top Arrow
    • Letters of Recommendation and the Waiver to the Letters of Recommendation:
      • These forms should be printed out and given to at least three recommenders.  Remember to type or print your name and the academic unit on the forms before giving them to your recommenders.  The letters should be sent by the recommenders directly to the academic unit to which you are applying.
    • Electronic Letters of Recommendation and Wiavers
      • Alternatively, you may ask your recommenders to use the electronic letter of recommendation form available online at:
        http://www.rgs.uci.edu/grad/app/letload.htm.

        If you chose this option, be sure to give your recommenders your applicant identification number that you were provided when you pressed the SUBMIT button. They will need this number to link their comments with your personal application. Letters submitted by recommenders will be sent electronically to the academic unit and all the information on the Waivers to the Letters of Recommendation will be automatically provided to the recommender.
    • Test Scores
      • Tests- Register for the required tests (i.e., GRE's, TOEFL,etc.) or request that your previous test scores be sent to the Office of Graduate Studies. These tests are administered by the Educational Testing Service. For more information, see GRE and TOEFL.
      • Transcripts - Arrange to have duplicate transcripts of all necessary academic records sent directly from the registrar of each institution to the academic unit to which you are applying, not to the Office of Graduate Studies.
    • Application Fee
      • Application Fee Form - If you are paying by check or money order, this form must accompany your application fee to assure that your $40.00 fee payment is correctly credited. Applications will not be processed until the fee payment has been received. The application fee form will automatically load onto your screen after you hit the SUBMIT button.  Please print the form out and send it along with your check or money order.
      • Applicant Identification Number - When you hit the SUBMIT button, you will be assigned an applicant identification number. Your identification number will be automatically printed on your application fee form and it will enable us to match your fee payment with your personal application.
      • Application Fee - Submit the fee form and your $40.00 check or money order payable to the UC Regents to:
        Office of Graduate Studies
        120 Administration Bldg.
        University of California, Irvine, 92697-3180.
      • On-Line Credit Card Payment- Applicants who elect to pay their application fee over the Internet may use Visa or MasterCard, and your request will be processed by our finanical clearing house. An email regarding the status of your request will be sent to you within 24 hours. Applicants without an email address will receive their status report via surface mail.
