Federal regulations require that all first-time borrowers of Federal Stafford and Federal Perkins Loans complete an entrance interview. The purpose of an entrance interview is to review your rights and responsibilities regarding your loan(s) and answer any questions you may have concerning your future repayment obligations.
When borrowing from the Federal Subsidized, Federal Unsubsidized, or Federal Perkins Loan Program for the first time, you must complete an entrance interview before loan proceeds can be disbursed to you. If you are a transfer student you are also required to attend an entrance interview.
If a student fails to complete an entrance interview within ten days after the school has received their loan funds, their loan(s) will be cancelled.
There are several ways you can accomplish your entrance interview:
- You can do your entrance interview on-line with the Bank of North Dakota. This takes approximately 30 minutes.
- You can attend a group entrance interview at MSU. The sessions are scheduled at the beginning of each semester. You should allow 30 minutes for the interview. A
schedule of dates, times, and locations will be mailed with your award letter.
- If you are unable to do either of the above, contact
Linda Benson at 701-858-3199 to schedule an individual session.. |

If you received loans while attending Minot State University through the Federal Stafford, Federal Unsubsidized, Federal Perkins, and/or Nursing Student Loan Programs, you are required to complete an exit interview. When you graduate, withdraw, or become less than half time, don't forget to do your exit interview! It is a federal regulation and is a must!
The purpose of an exit interview is to review your rights and responsibilities, provide information about repayment options, and answer any questions that you might have concerning the repayment of your loans.
You can do your exit interview by:
- Completing it on-line with the Bank of North Dakota. This takes approximately one hour.
- Scheduling an individual exit interview by contacting
