Charles E. M. Kolb (Washington, D.C.) has served as president of the Committee for Economic Development (CED) since 1997. Prior to joining CED, he was general counsel and secretary of the United Way of America, from 1992 to 1997. During nearly 10 years of government service, he held several senior-level positions, including deputy general counsel for regulations and legislation and deputy undersecretary for planning, budget, and evaluation in the U.S. Department of Education.
