NANSLO Partners
Discipline Panels
Each discipline panel contains members representing a balance among the two-year and four-year schools involved in the project.
Panel members began collaborating in review of NANSLO science laboratory curriculum and experiments at the end of June 2011. They use an email listserv and a wiki workspace to communicate and document their work together.
The members met at a two-day workshop held at North Island College in British Columbia in September 2011 to continue discussion of the biology, physics and chemistry lab curriculum.
At the workshop, they learned about BCcampus development of Remote Web-based Science Laboratories (RWSL). The team discussed the application of both RWSL and lab kit experiments in the NANSLO curriculum and made recommendations for deployment of both RWSL equipment & lab kits by the Colorado Community College System.
Members have since provided recommendations for expanding the NANSLO project to include other institutions thereby establishing the North American Network of Science Labs Online.
Members of each panel have collaborated via email and conference call in the revision of Remote Lab experiments and creation of a scoring rubric used in assessing the student experience in use of Remote Labs.
