State Policy Roundtables

Public policy support is critical to the long-term effectiveness of accelerated learning opportunities. Through this component of the project, WCALO worked with state policymakers to inform them and others about the importance of accelerated learning opportunities for all students, especially low-income and rural, in increasing college participation and success.

Specifically, WICHE worked with individual states to create and facilitate one or a series of state roundtable discussions involving policymakers, education leaders, and other key constituencies to identify the state's priorities and strategies for encouraging the successful participation of low-income students in accelerated learning opportunities. WICHE provided financial support to offer technical assistance, advice and staff as needed to ensure a successful state roundtable.
