  • The California budget also provides $3.5 million for the University of California’s efforts to improve transfer from community colleges.

  • Following on a compulsory transfer policy passed by the 1997 legislature, the Nevada Board of Regents mandated that all students who begin at community colleges should have a path to the baccalaureate degree in every major that can be completed with the same number of credits as required for students who begin at universities.

  • North Dakota implemented dual enrollment legislation allowing students to receive both high school and college credit for selected courses.
