Appropriations

• Biennial budgets in Nevada and North Dakota meant FY 99 funding was unchanged from FY 98.

• Alaska, Colorado, and Montana received FY 99 appropriations that exceeded their prior year appropriation by 1 percent, 3.8 percent, and 1.3 percent respectively.

• Of the Western states in this issue, only Hawaii’s FY 99 appropriation declined from its FY 98 appropriation.
